| The Alabama Hills, located in the shadow of the eastern crest of the Sierra Nevada just west of the town of Lone Pine, is a maze of boulders and Rubenesque rocks, some as large as a house. Every step leads one to a new view; the sensory input is dizzying. I like to wander around without objective, open to whatever scenes present themselves. Here I found, under a sky of filamentary clouds, a scene of three interested heaps of stone that seemed to go well together. If you use your imagination (perhaps a lot of it), you might see the family of dinosaurs lying down that I see, papa, mama, and baby. |
