| I'm always attracted to abstract geometric shapes and patterns, so it's no wonder this field caught my eye as I was driving a highway south of Iowa City. For once I could pretty well count on the scene remaining unchanged so I proceeded without stopping to my destination for an afternoon of wildflower shooting. I stopped on my way back to make this image. Normally if I see an image possibility I stop to shoot -- the scene and the light will never be just that way again, and planning to come back later usually results in a missed opportunity, but this time it worked out. The overcast, rainy day put wonderfully soft light on the scene, but a light that was on the blue side so I used an 81A warming filter (mild orange) to correct the lighting to what I perceived in my brain. |
