| The woods I was walking through was lousy with trout lilies. It was late in their season, so the blossoms had closed up to the point pictured. I think the way the bloom looks rather downcast at this stage is a poignant commentary on its life cycle. Out of the mass of flowers available, I chose this one and tried to arrange its stem to form a pleasing swoop up to the blossom. |
