| Fall colors in California are very different from those of Vermont and Michigan. Especially in the mountains, the colors are subtle and underfoot. Only the brilliant yellow stands of aspens can begin to compete in the technicolor derby of autumn woods. But the attentive viewer can find small scenes of extraordinary color combinations, as in this scene from a lakeside along Rt. 120 in Yosemite's high country. |
