| Bridalveil Fall is one of the icons of Yosemite Valley. It is beautiful from all angles, but is so well-known that it is a challenge to make something new of it. I was shooting from the Wawona Tunnel, one of the most traditional places to photograph the Valley. Like most, I was initially interested in taking broad views of the entire Valley -- El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall. But then I became aware of the gorgeous and gentle sunset light falling on the Fall and changed lenses to isolate just Bridalveil and its "hanging valley." As often in photography, less is more. |
