| The Lady's Slipper is a coveted subject for photographers, the bloom almost as rare as it is exotic. A ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park gave me a lead to this bloom. It was just feet from the road, but still hard to find. That it was a popular destination for Park visitors was made clear when a sightseer far up the road volunteered yelled directions to me, it was so obvious where I was heading with my camera gear. I placed a white reflector under the blossom to kick some light onto the shadowed underside. |
