Granby Road

(order ID # CT35-01944-A)

I somewhat mistimed my visit to Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, arriving well before the peak of the color. Not that I mind preceding the absolute peak, for I enjoy the transition of green to color as much as I enjoy the riot of reds, oranges, and yellows at peak. But I was faced with a lot of green on this trip. One place that I kept coming back to was Granby Road, an isolated dirt road that seemed to have the best color at the time. Not only did it have attractive foliage, but it was also an almost deserted stretch of road, so I could mosey my truck along, contemplate the evolving views, and easily pull over when I spotted something of interest. The road itself was on occasion a work of art, as in this image where it, not the vegetation, is the star.
