Abandoned House, Vermont

(order ID # CT35-01988)

I could be wrong, for this was my first trip to Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom" -- the northeastern corner of the state. But my impression of the countryside dwellings was one of poverty or wealth, with little in between. It is almost as if the only people who live outside the towns there are those who can't afford to leave or those who are rich enough to relocate there. There appeared to me a dearth of thriving middle-class country residents. This abandoned ramshackle house in the middle of nowhere is an example from the low end of the economic spectrum. I used a 105 mm lens to isolate a portion of the house carefully framed by foliage; it's often effective to let a part of an object stand for the entire thing.
