Willoughby Cliffs in Fog

(order ID # CT35-01953-A)

The Willoughby Cliffs Natural Area and Willoughby State Forest surround the southern part of Lake Willoughby in northeastern Vermont. Unlike most of Vermont's rolling countryside and hills, the Cliffs are sheer drops. On this rainy day they were making their own weather, a mist clinging to them and the surrounding foliage. I used a 105 mm lens to give a fairly narrow angle of view so I could exclude the sky from the image -- any fragment of sky would have registered as blank white, pulling one's eye away from the scenery of interest.
