"I was extremely satisfied with the technical photography work that Dr. Tim Edberg did for me. I needed good photographs of a detector array for a conference presentation on very short notice. Tim was able to meet my schedule and provide excellent results. I believe that Tim's technical background serves him well when working with engineers and scientists."
"We build intricate scientific instrumentation and often we need to return to a set-up we did months or years earlier, and our written descriptions can only take us so far. Tim's photographic records have proven absolutely invaluable in this regard. His photographs allow us to re-create detail and are of such high quality that we are thrilled to use them in presentations and papers. Best of all Tim always knows what shots will be both most useful and most attractive. I don't know how often I've said, 'Wow, I'm glad I have that shot.'"
Excellent, professional photography of your work gives you a big leg up for:
Your world is competitive; you need every edge you can get.
I earned my Ph.D. in experimental particle physics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1988. I went on to work in an R&D lab in the Space Sciences Laboratory in Berkeley for seven years, developing a novel hard X-ray detector for astrophysical and medical measurements. I worked on all aspects of this project, from soldering wires to writing proposals to managing the books.
Because I worked on your side of the process for some 15 years, I have a keen appreciation of your needs. Few photographers can combine this sort of experience to give you exactly the images you are looking for. I understand:
I offer a full range of services, including:
I bring valuable intangibles to each of these services:
I arrange with my clients to work in the manner best for them. If you want to look over my shoulder and approve each frame I shoot, that's fine with me. If you want to leave me alone to do the shoot while you are busy elsewhere, that is just fine with me too. Whatever is best for you.
My scientific background I described above. I have been shooting as a professional freelance photographer since 1990. I have won numerous awards for my fine-art photography; you can check out my artistic pedigree at about the artist. My technical photography clients include scientists at these institutions:
