Olmsted Point in Yosemite National Park gives dramatic views in all directions. Stormy skies that day made me drive to Olmsted Point near sunset in the hope of spectacular shots. I was not disappointed. The fantasy light made this scene almost glow with an internal energy. The three parts of this composition -- the foreground trees, the middle-distance domes, and the far mountain -- each got its own unique light. And yes, Tenaya Lake was really that intensely blue. |
